And here's the other card inspired by one of Heather's sketches. I bought this Love and Laughter stamp set to use on my wedding invitations. I'm just now getting around to using them in other ways. It's hard to tell from the photo, but I stamped the "Love and Laughter" words on the background of the card. I'll have to play around with the best place to take photos.

I bought this set out of the new Serendipity Magalogue and couldn't wait to play with it. I wasn't sure about coloring this birdcage so I went with paper piecing instead. If you're not familiar, this is what you do: Stamp birdcage on tan CS. Also stamp birdcage on patterned paper and on light plum. Cut out the areas you would like in pattern and in plum and glue to original image on the tan CS. I really like this technique when I'm using a stamp featuring a character or animal in clothing. It's so easy to give them designer clothing.

I played some more with the sweet skunks set and like these results much better than yesterday's. I decided that embossing them with clear EP definitely made for a cleaner, sharper image. Here it is with simple CS layering and a few fun embellishments
And here it is with decorative papers from the Genevieve collection. I think these colors suit this set well.

Well it's hard to get myself out of lazy vacation mode and back into the swing of things, but I did make a couple of cards tonight. Here's the first.
Techniques: If you're wondering how I got the 2 shades of pink and green, I "Dirty stamped" (gasp)! Ink up your stamp, stamp it off on a scrap once and then stamp it on your paper, giving you a fainter image. I also used a makeup sponge dipped in the pink ink to add color around the white CS and then ran the edge across my green stamp pad for more definition.

Just a few more easy examples. Just stamp, color and apply the papers in a pleasing composition. Note: The “ribbons” on the window box and fish cards are actually just strips of paper cut in the shape of ribbon scraps. I ran them across my scissor blade to give them a slight curve.
One of my favorite sets that I purchased recently is Everyday Events. It is such a versatile one and includes images for a few specific holidays, but more for general occasions.
